Necessary Evil is an independent brand which provides sexy gothic clothing for both men and women mixing the classic, sexy gothic style with a stylish new twist. They aim to reinvent the gothic style however, without what they believe to be “the crushed velvet cliché” that most classic Goth brands seem to have. Necessary Evil is designed by people who live alternative lifestyles, creating what they love, for other like-minded people. Necessary Evil provide realistic clothing sizes from a UK 8 to a UK 24, they cater for people with curves and more natural looking bodies, your curves can’t be celebrated if there are none to celebrate.

As with most Goth brands, the main colours featured in the brand are red and black with some browns and whites dotted around the ranges. New collections are added to the brand name with each passing season, meaning there are constantly new styles. Design features commonly seen in Necessary Evil clothing are hook and eye detailing, zips, pleats, ruffles, asymmetry, lace up and printed patterns and designs. Materials used vary from various cotton fabrics, to sexy stretchy polyester, to lace. The way in which Necessary Evil differ from most gothic brands, in their refusal to use crushed velvet as a material for their clothing.
