Hurley
In 1979 Hurley International was first set up by Bob Hurley, Bob Rowland and Joe Knoernschild. In 2002, the company was bought by Nike and due to an uproar in the surfing community; the brand remains to this day relatively independent, with Bob Hurley continuing to be the chairman of the company. The main interests of the company are skateboarding, surfing and music having sponsored various musicians over the years, from blink-182 to Avenged Sevenfold. They also work with in collaboration with various musicians to create limited edition. Before founding Hurley International, Bob Hurley worked as a surfboard shaper for numerous years, gaining a reputation as one of the best shapers in Southern California.
The Hurley brand contains separate clothing lines for both men and women, separate surf and skateboard ranges, and a constantly changing selection of music t shirts. Also featured on the brand website is a digital gallery, showcasing the work of a different artist each month, showing that Hurley is so much more than just a clothing brand. While on the subject of clothing, the men and women’s ranges contain a huge selection of apparel; using materials from fleece to denim, items from t shirts to dresses, influences from art and music collaborations, and even including accessories such as swimwear to eyewear and headwear.
