Westbeach was established in 1979 as a store in Calgary selling snowboarding gear. In 2006 they released the Phantom jacket which was the first breathable, waterproof, and photo luminescent jacket.

Other features include, pit zips, passholder pocket and a fixed waist gaiter with pant connection system, fixed hood, inner lycra cuffs with thumbhole and hem adjusters in the front pockets.
