Sons and Daughters - This Gift - Album Review
This Gift is Glaswegian Sons and Daughters third album, which has been produced by ex-Suede’s Bernard Butler. Is this enough to warrant it a success?
Opening song Gilt Complex is a feisty stomper of a tune, whilst Rebel with the Ghost shows off Adele Bethel’s beautiful voice.
House in my Head should be commended for it’s loudness - the guitar riff at the start is almost enough to make you fall off your chair. Most current single Darling with its sleazy guitar riff and angelic vocals may sound like a contradiction in terms but it works incredibly well.
The great thing is that this album doesn’t have any bad songs on it - okay, it might take you a few listens to get into it, but once you do you’ll have found one of the potential albums of 2008.
Sons and Daughters - This Gift (2008). Previous albums are Love The Cup (2004) and Repulsion Box (2005).
