The Saturdays are a five-piece British girl group. The band consists of former S Club 8 members Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman as well as Mollie King, Una Healy and Vanessa White.

The Saturdays were first seen supporting Girls Aloud on their Tangled Up Tour in 2008.

Their debut single, “If This Is Love”, is released on 28th July 2008.

One of the biggest festivals in the UK, V attracts many pop and rock acts within its two sites. Acts in 2008 include: Ian Brown, Kaiser Chiefs and Muse.

Leeds/Reading Festival: August 22-24

Another festival that is held on two sites simultaneously, Leeds/Reading sees a of music and comedy acts over the space of three days. Headliners this year include: Rage Against the Machine, Metallica and The Killers.

Creamfields 2008: August 23-24

2008 sees the tenth anniversary of this dance festival. Acts this year include Fatboy Slim, Underworld and Soulwax.

The White Stripes are one of the hottest bands around. Their red, white and black style is second to none and their live shows are the stuff of legend.

The band was formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan and consists of Jack White (vocals, guitar, piano) and Meg White (vocals and drums). Debate over the relationship between the two was rife until it was revealed that they used to be married.

First album The White Stripes was released in 1999, with second album De Stijl being released in 2000. Success came with third album White Blood Cells which was released in 2001 and re-released in 2002. This album included hits such as Hotel Yorba and Fell in Love With a Girl, which had a famous video which was made from Lego.

Elephant was released in 2003 and it featured the bands most famous release, Seven Nation Army. Fifth album Get Behind Me Satan was released in 2005 and most recent album Icky Thump was released in 2007.

The band are also involved in side projects. Jack White’s band The Raconteurs recently released their second album.

The band have released six albums: The White Stripes (1999), De Stijl (2000), White Blood Cells (2001), Elephant (2003), Get Behind me Satan (2005) and Icky Thump (2007). (Click to Buy albums)
